“MAMA PITTS” BOAT NAMED

One of our quads has a storied legacy that began with the US Womens’ Olympic team rowing it to a silver in the 2015 Pan Am games, and our girls rowing it to gold medals at the Scholastic Nationals last year and to the Virginia State Championship sand to silver at the Stotesbury cup Regatta and at Nationals in 2017.  As a result, they were given the opportunity to name it, which they did.

The team decided to name it “Mama Pitts” in honor of Myriam Pitts, the founder, soul and inspiration of this program.  We had a formal ceremony at Beaver Creek to do so and over 100 of our rowers, friends and family joined us to honor the memory of our founder!
